Town of Risan
Beyond Perast is the town of RISAN which is the oldest settlement on the Bay of Kotor. The Villa Urbana, just up from the main road houses some outstanding Roman mosaics.
Muo and Prancj
The other side of the fjord has a very narrow road but is extremely picturesque. MUO and PRANCJ are really attractive with stone houses nestling next to the water.
Prcanj boasts an enormous church, the Church of Our Lady’s Temple which dominates the landscape.
There are some very nice restaurants in Prcanj. The Centar just opposite the church is very reasonable and popular with the locals. The Lanterna near the lighthouse serves excellent food in a wonderful waterside setting. The Hotel Splendido and the Bokeljski Dvori both have excellent restaurants.
In Muo, the Villa Ferri is a small restaurant on the water’s edge which serves excellent fresh seafood.
Herceg Novi
HERCEG NOVI a few miles back across the ferry has another pretty old town with good bars and restaurants.
Kayak Montenegro (321 655, www.kayakmontenegro.com) rent sea kayaks and organise tailor made tours.
Cetinje
CETINJE, the old capital is within easy reach for a day trip but the mountain road is reputedly quite challenging. However, the 20km drive is said to provide one of the most scenic trips in the country, through the LOVCAN National Park.
Tara Canyon and Ostrog Monastry
Thesepopular tourist sopts are all inland several hours drive away.
Tara Canyon, is second in depth only to the Grand Canyon, and has some exciting white water rafting and numerous hiking expeditions.
Ostrog Monastery, was built in the 17th century and is set high on a cliff face. These have been recommended if you have the time.
Lake Skadar
LAKE SKADAR is the largest body of water in the Balkans, and is home to a National Park and Bird Sanctuary.

Yacht Charter
A lovely English couple, Tim and Katy, run yacht charter from their yacht/home. This is a superb day out and a wonderful way to see the fjord. Their website address is www.montenegro4sail.com,. If you book early the price is considerably reduced.
